25 years of teaching

Airport fuel farm to be working Monday

 The Covington Municipal Airport is nearly fully operational, but some snags remain. Atlanta East Aviation Manager Rusty Anglin said the two 10,000 gallon fuel tanks at the airport were filled Friday, but when employees tried to pump out the fuel, nothing happened.

Fore! The Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce held its annual golf tournament on an absolutely beautiful day Thursday. The Oaks hosted the event, which drew about 30 teams. Various community sponsors set up tables on each hole and gave away prizes and refreshments. The Sunbelt Builders 1A team won first place (score of 52 on the 71 par course), with Hodge Underground (55) and Miracle League/Newton County Recreation Department (56) teams coming in second and third.
