Pre-k supporters rally today

ATLANTA - Advocates for Georgia's pre-kindergarten program plan a rally at the state Capitol.

The rally is scheduled for Tuesday at noon. Advocates will call upon Gov. Nathan Deal and legislators to commit to supporting the program for the 150,000 4-year-olds in the state who are eligible to participate.

Covington author publishes inspirational book

God has been good to Covington author Joyce Fincher, who has a new inspirational book available online, "He'll Lead You Through Your Sea."

It's her testimony of how God has led her through the darkest times of her life, as well as through the happy times. Fincher believes that she is simply God's vessel through whom he has written the story of her experiences.

Fulton firefighters find pot plants

ATLANTA - Fulton County fire officials say firefighters sent to douse an overnight blaze found dozens of suspected marijuana plants growing in the basement.

Fulton fire Battalion Chief Markus Jones says firefighters were sent to the house in south Fulton County early Monday. Jones says there was no one home when the firefighters arrived. He says the signs of a marijuana-growing operation included special lighting.
