New ministry helps single parents rebuild
Spring Ministries, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps single parents and their children, will hold a fundraiser dinner at 5 p.m. on July 30 at DeKalb Tech's Newton Center, 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, Covington.

Not So Silent Night
"Not So Silent Night," a free outdoor family event and drama sponsored by the Covington Christian Church, will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. While many churches offer the traditional Christmas program and cantata, music director, John Johnson wanted to try a different approach - something unique that would be a gift to the community.
A man of enthusiasm and energy
The Rev. Kenneth Norrington is best described as a man with a lot of energy, enthusiasm, joy and a lot of Jesus. He serves as a part time local pastor to Union Grove United Methodist and Gaither's Chapel United Methodist Church. A native of Covington, he was born to the late John Henry and Perrylee Norrington. Although he accepted Christ at age 18 and knew he had a calling on his life to preach, he did not come to terms with it until the death of his parents.

The Redeeming Love Christian Church in Conyers is preparing to feed one hundred families in the Newton/Rockdale County area during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
