Man arrested after woman beaten

Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office were called to the Citgo on Ga. Highway 81 Friday afternoon by witnesses who saw a woman, who appeared to have been beaten, crying outside the store.

Man charged with vehicular homicide in death of James Stanley Moore

James Stanley Moore Sr. was heading to work at SRG Global around 4:20 a.m. on April 24 when another vehicle crossed into his lane, ending the 59-year-old's life. On July 4, 23-year-old William Andrew Spain was charged in the accident that caused Moore's death.

What started in December of 2009 came to an end Friday afternoon, when a Walton County jury found 35-year-old Chad Ashley Allen guilty of the murder of 38-year-old Andrew "Drew" Nichols, and sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
