Charlene Jacqueline Haggard Bell, 82 of Covington passed away May 14, 2016. Charlene was born August 2, 1933, at 10 Poplar Street, Porterdale. She moved to Covington in 1943, where she attended elementary school and Newton County High School. Charlene married Richard Bell in 1954. Richard was a graduate of Emory at Oxford College. During the time they lived in Cartersville she attended Coosa Valley Technical College in Rome. Mary Louis Cunningham

Mary Louis Cunningham, of Covington, passed away at the age of 78. Mrs. Cunningham was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Philadelphia Eagles. She enjoyed collecting jewelry and cooking. Mrs. Cunningham especially loved baking cakes and delivering them to family, friends and local businesses. Because of her love for animals, she was a faithful supporter of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Mrs. Cunningham cherished the time she spent with her family. She was preceded in death George Robert Cunningham, her husband of 54 years; and parents George and Mary Jane Bankler.
