The upstart Oxford Orioles Baseball Club ended its fall baseball season this recently by winning the nation’s Baseball Fall State Championship at Victor C. Lord Park in Winder.

The team’s first season began with a tournament in Conyers on Sept. 5th. Through four tournaments, and a final record of 8-6, the team hit its peak this past weekend recording three wins to only one loss and winning the tournament championship.

The team, sponsored in part by Bridgestone Golf, Tumblebus Inc., Superior Machine, Room by Room Drywall, and TME Inc., is comprised of 10 players (ages 12 and 13), eight players from Newton County and two players from Jasper County.
