Covington man killed in early-morning motorcycle accident

A Covington man was killed in an early-morning motorcycle and vehicle accident Tuesday in Conyers on the Sigman Road entrance way to Interstate 20.

The victim, 26-year-old Stephen Wurst, was traveling south on Sigman Road on motorcycle a little after 5 a.m. while a tan Toyota Camry, driven by Conyers resident Judith Lorier, headed north on Sigman Road, according to an incomplete Rockdale County  Sheriff's Office report.

As the Camry turned towards the on-ramp to the Interstate, it turned left in front of the motorcycle, "causing the driver to lay the motorcycle down."  The motorcycle slid one way and the motorcycle driver was thrown toward the entrance of the interstate and was struck and run over by the Camry.

The vicitm was declared deceased on the scene around 6:02 a.m. by the Rockdale County Deputy Coroner.
