Get over it

Dear Editor: I'm writing because I am so tired of reading about traffic and bus issues at Clements Theme School. When we first learned about the theme school, we knew from the start it would be parent transportation only. I can't believe the comment in the article of someone asking if asking can she get a refund on their taxes because no buses were available. Buses are available at drop off points; your taxes pay for your home school buses.

This school is a choice that you and I made. The key word here is choice. Also, an agreement was made. Nothing is perfect when it is first established and we have to be patient and help make it work, not tear it down. This is an opportunity that the county has offered - key word again, offered - and it is on the same concept as private schools, which I might add are anywhere from $550 to $850 a month and [offer] no transportation other than drop off points.

I certainly hope that a few uninformed parents who obviously didn't check into what they were doing, don't ruin it for all of us who are excited and willing to work with the school and county. My son is having the best year he's ever had, and I just love everything about it. I say it's about time we had something like this.

As for the ones who say they both work in Atlanta and have four kids in the theme schools and [spent] $800 on uniforms, that was your choice to put four in the schools knowing they were required to wear uniforms, and you chose to travel to that job and be so far away from the school. I actually wait in line less time at Clements Theme than I did at Cousins last year.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone; I don't usually do things like this, but I'm just really tired of people thinking they're owed something for whatever reason. If you're not happy with the way something is going, then move on, and that applies to a lot of things.

Go back to your child's home school if you're not happy and stop trying to mess it up for all [of] us who want this better opportunity for our kids.
