Charles E. Roseberry of Porterdale, died August 24, 2009, at the age of 63. Mr. Roseberry, considered as a jack-of-all trades, enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He always took care of his elderly neighbors, helping them any way he knew how. Mr. Roseberry was Cub Scout Master, Pack 151, at Salem, and was once awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for being an outstanding and committed balanced and restorative justice community Accountability Board Member for three years of service. Mr. Roseberry was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Prather Roseberry; son, Derek Roseberry; parents, Richard and Verna Workman Roseberry; sisters, Rachel Mears, Betty Crisp, Geraldine Roseberry; brothers, Dub, Paul, Eugene, and Johnny Roseberry. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Denise and Chuck LaVack of Summerville, SC, Stephanie Dawn and David Meador of Porterdale, Jennifer Jacobs and Anthony Cooper of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Roseberry, and fiancé, Samantha Newsome of Conyers, Devon Bruns, Chuck Roseberry, III, of Ranlo, NC, Matthew and Kim Roseberry of Covington, Craig and Sonya Roseberry of Bessemer City, NC; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kat Howell, Carolyn Shubert, both of Gastonia, NC, Patty Gregory of Hickory, NC; brothers, Raymond Roseberry, Floyd Roseberry, both of Gastonia, NC. Funeral Services for Mr. Roseberry will be held Friday, August 28, 2009, 2 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating, and interment following in Porterdale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, August 27, from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
