Autry-Rogers engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Autry of Huntsville, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Christen Autry to Benjamin Michael Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rogers of Gadsden Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Farrin Jr. of Carlton and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Autry of Covington. She is a graduate of Excalibur Christian School and received her training as a violin teacher through the Suzuki association of the Americas and presently teaches Suzuki Violin at New Song School of music. She is currently pursuing a degree in nursing at the University of Alabama Huntsville.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Bernice Jenkins and the late Mr. Boots Jenkins of Bruce, Miss., and Mrs. Elnora Rogers and the late Mr. Calvin Rogers of Oneonta, Ala. He graduated summa cum laude from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Arts in classical studies. After interning in Washington, D.C. for a year at the Heritage Foundation, he attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

The couple will move to Winston-Salem, N.C., this summer where Benjamin will begin residency training in internal medicine at Wake Forest University.

The wedding will be May 30, 2009 at Providence Baptist Church, in Huntsville.
