Pet of the Week

The Newton County Animal Shelter's pet of the week is a cute, black, mixed-breed puppy, about 8 weeks old. There are two of them. Also available for adoption are a 5-6-year-old Chihuahua; a hound mix, yellow; a poodle/terrier mix, 4-months-old, black and white; a miniature Pinscher; a 2-month-old brown Lab mix; a 3-month-old Collie named Tiny; two setter mix dogs, 2-months-old; a husky, tri-colored; a shepherd/chow mix, named Teru, housebroken to newspaper; two collie mix puppies, 5-months-old; two mixed breed dogs, one black, one white with black spots; a black Lab mix with orange collar; a chow/collie mix named Patches; a 2-year old Presa Canario, very nice dog; an 8-month-old blue heeler mix; a brown and white collie mix, very friendly; and a friendly Lab mix. The shelter also has nice cats and kittens for adoption. The shelter will take sealed bids beginning at $150 on a 10-year-old Paint horse. Bids will be accepted until noon, May 15.
