The Newton County Animal Shelter's pet of the week is a Dachshund, terrier mix about 5 months old, brown, a very nice dog

Scruffy but loveable: The Newton County Animal Shelter’s pet of the week is a Dachshund, terrier mix about 5 months old, brown, a very nice dog. Also available for adoption are a 3-year-old white poodle; a shepherd mix, 2 months old; three Lab mix puppies about 2 months old, black, brown and brindle; a 2-month-old mixed breed, black, brindle and white; a Chihuahua, 3 years old; a collie mix, 3 months old, named Ting; two setter mix dogs, 2 months old, black; a 13-week-old shepherd/chow mix named Teru; a black Lab mix; another black Lab mix, 6 weeks old; a black and tan shepherd mix with blue body harness; a Rottweiler named Princess; a collie mix named Zoey; a tri-colored mixed breed; The shelter has some very pretty kittens and cats. Remember May 3-9 is Be Kind to Animals Week. We hope everyone is kind to their animals all the time. In addition, sealed bids will be accepted for a 10-year-old paint horse until noon May 15 at the shelter. A minimum bid is $150.
