Our Thoughts... The age of transparency

After a bitter fight, the Georgia General Assembly did the right thing and passed a bill that orders the Department of Revenue to report the public lawmakers who do not pay their taxes. The governor has now signed this bill into law.

We would like to thank Sen. Eric Johnson from Savannah for his efforts, in spite of opposition in the Senate from some of his fellow tax-owing associates, who tried their best to brand him as a racist while getting this bill passed.

We would like to see a bill in Georgia that would make every politician who is involved in taxing the residents of this state, from the local level up, be included in a similar law.

After all, according to our president, this is the age of transparency.
