National Weather Service issues tornado watch for Newton until 7 p.m.

THE PRIMARY HAZARDS OF THIS STORM WILL BE FREQUENT LIGHTNING... PENNY TO NICKEL SIZE HAIL... WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH... AND ISOLATED TORNADOES.
PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN AND LOCALIZED FLOODING ARE ALSO LIKELY AS STORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP ALONG A WARM FRONT AND NUMEROUS OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES ACROSS NORTH AND PARTS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA TODAY.
