Uncompromisable

Marjae Kimble was involved in fashion design, jewelry design, doll design, clay design and interior design before she began picking up a paintbrush in earnest about two years ago.

"I felt like I had a mission to display what love should look like," she explained. "It seems like there’s such a lack of it."

"What does it look like to really love someone? It doesn’t have anything to do with sex. It has to do with how you give, how you hold someone, the gestures you make, the way a person’s hand is. All those things are incorporated."

"Plus, I’m a romantic anyway," she said, with a laugh.

Her works will be displayed at the Newton County Library meeting room from May 5 to May 15. Viewing is free to the public.

The Chicago native graduated from Northeastern University in 1985. She moved to the Atlanta area in 1989 and also exhibits her work in the Southern Heartland Art Gallery.
