Pet of the Week - April 19

All ears: The pet of the week is a 3-year-old male Chihuahua named Pete. He will not live with children. The following dogs are also available for adoption on the dates listed:

• One black with white, male Terrier mix, about 2-years-old. Vaccinated and wormed. Ask for Scrappy. Available now.

• One black with brown, female Schnauzer mix, about 2-years-old. Vaccinated and wormed. Available now. One black with brown, female Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher, about 1-year- old. Vaccinated and wormed. Available now.

• Two blond Labrador mix puppies. One female and one male. About 9-weeks-old. Vaccinated and wormed. Available April 17.

• One brindle, female Hound mix. About 10 months old. Available April 18.

• One blue tick, male Hound mix. About 9-months-old. Available now.

• One white with brown and black, neutered male Jack Russell mix. About 1-year-old. Ask for "Cody". Available now.

The shelter also has an assortment of adult cats. Please take advantage of several low-cost spay/neuter clinics available in the area. Call for details.

Animal Control with the help of the Humane Society of Newton County is offering dog shelters to those that cannot afford to provide their pet proper shelter.
