Herman Cobb Jr.

Mr. Herman "Pipe" Cobb Jr. of Covington, died April 9. The son of Mrs. Mildred Belcher sims and the late Herman Cobb Sr., he was born in Newton County in 1955. Mr. Cobb was a graduate of Newton County High School and a member of James Paschal Baptist church. Following in the footsteps of his daddy, Mr. Cobb entered the grading business at an early age. He was a heavy equipment operator for Sims Excavating Inc. Mr. Cobb was fun outgoing, talkative and a genuine friend. He knew no strangers. In his free time he enjoyed drag racing, wrestling, football, dancing and partying at a local "Hole in the Wall."
Surviving are parents Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Roy (Mildred) Sims; brother Mr. and Mrs. Lanier (Bionca) Sims; sisters Ms. Tammy Sims, Ms. Ella Mae Shy, Ms. Melody Usher, Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Josephine) Johnson; nieces and nephews E'Toyus and A.J. Palomino, Anisha and Amisha Usher, Anthony Broughton, Brandon Cobb, Mario and Joeston Johnson; six uncles; two aunts; one great-aunt; a host of other relatives and special friends.
Funeral services were held April 14 at the Church in the Now, Conyers, with Bishop Jim and Pastor Debye Swilley and the Rev. Lamar Bell presiding. Eulogist was Minister Marcell Banes. Interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
