Tornado watch issued for Newton until 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area until 10 p.m.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of tornadoes.

In addition to possible tornadoes, this storm system is capable of producing large hail of up to 3 inches in diameter, thunderstorm wind gusts of up to 70 m.p.h. and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning.
