The winner is: Grace Callaway, a fifth grade student at Ficquett Elementary, was named the Sergeant Newton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution winner for their annual American History Essay Contest. This year’s topic was "The Ideals of the Gettysburg Address." Winning essays from each elementary school were judged to select the chapter winner, who will move on to the state competition. Grace was presented with a medal, certificate and prize money award at the recent Georgia Day Luncheon held in cooperation with the Georgia Walton SAR. Grace is the daughter of William and Claudia Callaway.
