Verna Mae Almond, 82, of Brunswick, died Saturday, Jan. 17. Mrs. Almond moved to Brunswick to live with her daughter,Cheryl in 2000. She had a great sense of humor and loved to tease those she loved. She was also an avid gardener and attended the Bay Harbour Church of God.
She is survived by daughter Cheryl Williamson (Charlie) of Brunswick; son, Andrew Almond (Susan) of Helen; grandchildren Cindy Merritt of Brunswick, Nick Almond (Amanda) of Helen and Christian Almond of McDonough; a sister Lois Hamrick of Stone Mountain; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at Bay Harbour Church of God. Pastor Ricky Harris officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Interment was in Chapel Park Cemetery.
