Better Hearing Aid Service Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser Joe Stock sits at the sound booth in the Hearing Testing Room of their Covington location on Hospital Drive.

Together Joe and Barbara Stock, owners of Better Hearing Aid, have more than 80 years of experience in the hearing aid business.

The Stocks recently opened up a Better Hearing Aid in Covington after years of successfully running a Better Hearing Aid in Decatur. There are also Better Hearing Aids in Madison and Jackson.

Better Hearing Aid provides retail sales services to individuals looking for electronic auditory hearing assistance.

"We do all most major brand hearing aids," Joe said. "We fit and dispense hearing aids."

After being fitted for a hearing aid at the store, physical impressions are sent to a lab, which can take 10 days to two weeks to complete work on the requested hearing aid. Open-fit hearing aides though can be delivered in as little as a week.

He said customers come to Better Hearing Aid because of "the experience, the care and concern that we have for our patients. We want them to be healthy. We work with them to get them to where they're getting the best use from their hearing aids."

In the first month of a new hearing aid, Joe said he will have his customers come back four times to make sure their hearing aid is working correctly and to make any necessary modifications.

Joe is board certified by the National Hearing Aid Society and has 43 years in the business. Barbara has 41 years in the business.

"We ourselves are not audiologists, but I have audiologists on staff," Joe said.

Audiologists do specific tests for workups as needed for customers' ENT doctors.

All major credit cards are accepted. Better Hearing Aid also offers financing through Citibank and CareCredit.
