Price signs with Georgia Highlands

Precious Price officially concluded her career with the Newton Lady Rams on Wednesday when she signed her scholarship to attend Georgia Highlands College in Rome, Georgia, where she will continue her basketball career with the Chargers.

“I feel like it’s a great fit and good for my future,” Price said.

Price said she had other offers from other schools such as South Georgia Tech, Central Georgia Tech and Albany Tech, but it was the connection with the Chargers head coach that really convinced her to choose the school.

“I had a great connection with the coach and I feel like he’ll make me work harder to become better as a player,” Price said.

Price said her main goals while attending Georgia Highlands for the next two years will be to get an education, keep her grades up and continue to play and excel at the sport she loves.

As a senior, Price totaled 352 points and averaged 14.7 points per contest for the Lady Rams, en route to leading the Lady Rams to their first region championship in 11 years.

“Defeating Luella to win the region championship on our home court has to be my favorite moment here,” Price said. “That was a special night for my teammates, coaches and I because no one else thought we could do it.”

Price finishes her career with the Lady Rams as a four-year varsity player, where she accumulated over 1,000 points in her career.
