Groups join forces to increase voter registration

ATLANTA (AP) — Leaders of three community groups say they're joining forces to address issues and increase voter registration in minority communities ahead of the Georgia primary elections in May.

A news conference with leaders of the New United Coalition is planned for 11:30 a.m. Friday at the West End Mall in Atlanta.

The group says the coalition is made up of founders, leaders and volunteers of three Atlanta-based community groups: the Voter Empowerment Collaborative; Simply United Together Global; and the New Order Human Rights Organization.
