Bernice King to speak about judge's order

ATLANTA (AP) — The daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. plans to speak out about a judge's order that she turn over her father's Bible and Nobel Peace Prize to the court's control pending the outcome of a legal dispute.

The civil rights icon's estate is run by his two sons, Martin Luther King III and Dexter King. The estate's lawyers on Jan. 31 asked a judge to order their sister, Bernice King, to surrender the items.

A judge last week set a deadline of Wednesday for the items to be placed in the safe deposit box and for the keys to be handed over to the court.

Bernice King plans to hold a news conference Thursday along with some supporters at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where her father and grandfather preached.
