A vocal minority

We have been up on our high horse recently, preaching about how the "vocal minority" is controlling our country. A story we saw on the TV news yesterday just added fuel to that fire.

Pop singer Katy Perry has a new video out that has an Egyptian theme, which caught our attention because of the new stories produced in response to an issue brought about by a no-longer silent minority.

In the video, one of the characters that fades away to sand is wearing a medal that depicts Allah. Unless this was specifically pointed out, we doubt many people would have even noticed it, let alone knowing what the symbol represented.

Apparently there is now a petition signed by 60,000 Muslims demanding this video be taken out of circulation. Katy Perry has issued a statement that says that she had no idea what the medal said and that she had no intent to offend anyone.

This minority of Muslims, and other people supporting a nation of sensitivities, no doubt will cause the video to be taken down.

Our question is: When are the 60,000 Muslims who are so offended about a medal going to show as much concern about Christians and other groups who are being persecuted and killed for their beliefs in the countries they come from?
