Teen reportedly attacks family after drinking

A teen reportedly attacked her father, brother and sister at their home Tuesday.

An officer with the Covington Police Department responded to an address on Thompson Avenue, where he spoke with a juvenile girl and her father.

The teen reportedly told the officer that her father struck her in the mouth, causing a laceration to her lip. According to the report, the officer saw that the teen had a small amount of blood on the inside of her lip.

However, the man told the officer that his daughter had been drinking and began tearing things up in the house. He said at some point he pushed his daughter away from him to avoid being struck by her. The man said he was unsure how she got the injury on her lip, the report stated.

The officer also spoke to the man’s other daughter and his son, both in their 20s, who were there when the incident occurred.

According to the report, the man’s older daughter said her younger sister was tearing up the house and then tried to fight her brother and father. The brother also said his younger sister was "swinging" at him and his dad as they struggled with her.

The officer viewed the area where the teen reportedly was throwing things around and saw a garbage can knocked down and trash all over the kitchen.

According to the report, the family said the teen had a friend over earlier in the day with whom she reportedly consumed alcohol. A juvenile complaint was filed for consumption of alcohol by a person under 21 and the teen was released back to her father.
