The Junior Garden Club at Sharp Learning Center is spreading a little Christmas cheer this year. The group decorated 69 mini stockings for mental health patients at Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur.

"This small group of girls made a lot of stockings, and I think they did a great job," said Yvette Zielenske, who heads the group.

The Jr. Garden Club is a part of the Satsuki Garden Club. Betty Bellairs, garden therapy chair for Satsuki, said garden clubs across the state participate in this stocking project every year.

"We usually buy the stockings, but they (junior club members) volunteered to make them this year and they did a wonderful job," said Bellairs.

Junior Garden Club members spent two months decorating the stockings.
