The Social Circle varsity wrestling team is continuing its march through the 2012-2013 season after taking first place at the Panther Invitational over the weekend, winning the Walton County Duals for the first time in school history this week.

All five county high school wrestling teams were in attendance at the annual dual event, including George Walton Academy, Loganville, Monroe Area, Walnut Grove and the Redskins.

The Redskins went 4-0 at the tournament, defeating both GWA and Walnut Grove by a perfect score of 84-0.

Social Circle dominated Loganville with a 78-0 win before clinching a 77-3 victory over Monroe Area to end its dominat dual run.

Social Circle coach coach Randy Prater was very pleased with how his Redskins performed at the event.

“We tried to get everybody we could into a match today," Prater said. "We are very deep with many of our weight classes which makes it tough. ... They all want to wrestle, especially (against) cross-town schools, and are working very hard.”

This win extended the Redskins' record to 9-1.
