Runoff in Social Circle in BOE race

Commenting is not available.

After a three-way race for the District 4 seat of the Social Circle Board of Education, two candidates will be back on the ballot in December for a runoff election.

Incumbent Dan Chisholm received 40.49 percent of the vote, while challenger Charles Akin received 48.29 percent of the vote. A third candidate, Elizabeth Cheek, received 11.22 percent of the vote.

Because neither Chisholm nor Akin received 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election is required. The runoff is scheduled for Dec. 3.
