Social Circle election results

City Council

For District 1 of the city council, Scott Simpkins won against incumbent Traysa Price with 62.33 percent of the votes. For District 3 of the city council incumbent David Keener won with 62.23 percent of the votes.

Board of Education

School Board Chairman goes to incumbent Tim P. Lemonds who received 63.98 percent of the votes.

"I’m proud to be going back in and serving the community for another four years," said Lemonds. "We’ve got a lot of work to do and think I’m up to the task. ... I’m looking forward to hitting the road running and doing everything I can to better the school system."

Lemonds also complimented Robert Thomas, for "running a good, clean race."

District 2 for the school board goes to Jamie Peterson, who received 62.50 percent of the votes, after Geraldine Fears-Lett dropped out of the race last month. And the District 4 seat of the Social Circle School Board goes to Charlie Akin, who received 48.29 percent of the vote, just slightly more than incumbent Dan Chisholm, who received 40.49 percent.
