Sheriff-elect Brown to attend training school

Sheriff-Elect Lt. Ezell Brown will have little time to rest after the election, heading straight back to school Monday morning in order to learn the ins and outs of becoming Newton County’s next sheriff.

The training course takes place at the Georgia Training Center in Forsyth and the six weeks’ worth of classes will begin on Monday, according to Brown. The classes, which last all day, include training on a variety of topics, including management and jail and civil processes.

"I’m very excited," said Brown. "I’m ready to get to school and gain as much knowledge as I possibly can in order to perform the role the citizens have elected me to. I’m also excited to take the position and I accept it as an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of this county."
