NCSO searching for missing woman

/

Sarah "Hannah" York

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has issue a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) for a 24-year-old Covington woman, whose family says has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old.

Sarah “Hannah” York was last seen on June 24 when she left her home on Rutherford Place in Social Circle, following an argument with her mother. According to the NCSO, York told her mother that she should not bother calling the police or attempting to look for her because “she was grown and would never see her again.” York’s mother reportedly told investigators that York had recently attempted to get her birth certificate to obtain an ID card and has been asking “unusual questions” that led her mother to believe she might be attempting to leave the state.

According to her family, York may still be in Covington, or she might be heading to California or Washington. It is unclear if she left the house on foot or was picked up.

York has green eyes and brown hair, is 5-feet-7-inches tall, and weighs approximately 105 lbs. She was last seen wearing skinny jeans, black and white high-top Converse and a black shirt with silver zippers on the sleeves. She has a black mole between her thumb and palm.

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the NCSO at 678-625-1400 or online at www.newtonsheriffga.org. All tips can be given anonymously.
