Central Ga. law officers search for escaped inmate

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Law officers in central Georgia were searching for an inmate they say escaped from the Twiggs County law enforcement center by creating a hole in the shower.

The Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/13WFtP0) that the prisoner is accused of escaping early Sunday by pulling a shower head out of a wall, making a hole large enough to get through. Authorities say he then scaled the fence and got away.

Twiggs County sheriff's officials identified the inmate as 45-year-old Tony Havis Criswell. He was awaiting trial on charges of stalking, terroristic threats, criminal trespass, loitering and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities said his last known address was on Columbus Street in Macon.
