Driver involved in bus wreck fired

Gloria Inscore, the Newton County bus driver deemed at fault for the wreck last month that sent dozens of students to the hospital, has been terminated by the school system.

“The school board approved Ms. Inscore’s termination at its monthly meeting on Feb. 26. She is no longer employed with Newton County Schools,” said Sherri Davis-Viniard, director of public relations.

According to previous stories, Inscore, 55, was heading north on Ga. Highway 162 when a second bus driver stopped in front of her to deliver a student. Inscore failed to slow and struck the other bus. She was cited by the Georgia State Patrol for following too closely.
