Looking out for our best interests

Dear Editor:
Looking back, can each member of the Covington City Council (and the Newton County Commission) look at their actions and find that the person or policy they voted for was in the best interest of the city (or county) and not for what ‘s best for a friend(s), a business partner(s) or a political party? A good practice going forward that’s recommended to each and every council member and commissioner. We can only hope.
