Sharmine Hight

Conyers Police have issued a runaway juvenile alert for a mentally challenged 16-year-old Conyers girl missing since Jan. 22.

On  Tuesday, Jan. 22, Sharmine Hight left her residence at approximately 9:41 p.m. without her guardian’s permission. Sharmine Hight was last seen wearing a blue Hollister Sweater, blue jeans and sneakers. Hight is approximately 5-feet 2-inches and 125 pounds. She has medium length hair that is usually in a ponytail or straightened. Sharmine has brown eyes and prescription glasses with a green trim around the lenses. Only a handbag and an iPod were missing from her room.

Lt. Jack Dunn said investigators are asking for the public's help after trying other search methods within the 48-hour time period after she went missing. They also noticed there was no activity on her phone.

Her guardian told investigators that Sharmine is mentally challenged and should be considered endangered.
