Newton County Chief Assistant Distract Attorney Anne Kurtz has left the Alcovy Judicial Circuit for the Attorney General's Office Medicare Fraud division.

With the Newton County District Attorney's Office since 2007, Kurtz was named Chief ADA in 2010.

District Attorney Layla Zon said that she has not yet decided who will step into the position of Chief ADA citing, in part, a state hiring freeze.
