Sheriff’s toy run collects 155 toys


Local motorcyclists line their bikes up to prepare for Saturday's toy run. More than 100 people rode for the cause.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office collected 155 toys, as well as money to purchase more, during their 14th annual toy run Saturday.

There were 137 people riding on 107 motorcycles during the drive. The Salvation Army truck cooked food that was donated by Wheeler's Funeral Home and Covington Ford.

Chancey's Wrecker Service, B&H Wrecker Service, Sellars Motors and Wrecker Service, Chick-fil-A, Hill Top Towing, Custom Tint and Sound, K-2 Towing, Mountain Motorsports and The Covington News all joined in to sponsor the ride.
