Mansfield man stabs ex’s boyfriend

A Mansfield man was arrested Saturday for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend, a crime for which he himself called authorities to report Saturday morning.

Randall Cullen Worsham, 32, of 2377 Hodges Farm Road, Mansfield, called Conyers police to the scene of his ex-girlfriend's home at 9 a.m. Saturday to report he had stabbed a man, according to the arrest report. Worsham told officers that he had arranged to pick up his ex-girlfriend at her McCords Corner townhome so the two could go to breakfast.

According to the ex-girlfriend and two witnesses who also lived at the address, the current boyfriend of the woman became irate when he learned she planned to go to breakfast with her ex-boyfriend. He allegedly followed his girlfriend out of the townhome and started yelling at Worsham, who was still in his vehicle.

Worsham told officers the man then came around to his side of the vehicle and an altercation ensued once Worsham exited the vehicle. He said he told the current boyfriend that he had a knife but the man lunged at Worsham and struck him on his chest, at which time Worsham allegedly pulled out his knife and swung it, stabbing the victim in the back of the shoulder before throwing the knife onto the hood of the car. Worsham then called 911 to report the incident.

According to all witnesses, the bleeding victim then fled the scene on foot because he stated he had outstanding warrants for a probation violation. A Conyers K-9 officer was called to the scene but was unsuccessful in locating the victim. Worsham was booked and charged with one count of aggravated assault.
