Seasonal consignment store looks to help others

A local consignment store is looking to lift the economic burden off residents with discounted clothes and help homeless men, women and children in the local area.

Clean Clothes Consignment, a seasonal clothing store in Covington, is open two weeks out of the year and offers locals affordable name brand clothing and then donates a majority of their revenue and extra clothes to the needy.

"We do this because the economy is tough on everyone," said Stacie Lawrence, co-owner of Clean Clothes Consignment. "It's hard to spend money on good clothing when you need to buy groceries or pay the light bill. At our store, we wanted to provide clothing for the entire family at a small fraction, because you need good clothes to go to work and school."

Open for only two more days this year, (today from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Lawrence hopes residents will take advantage of the sale and a way to help others.

Clean Clothes Consignment next sale will be in the spring. For more information on the store, visit cleanclosetconsignments.com.

Clean Closet Consignments will be held in the same location at 9196 Hwy. 278, Covington. This is the Old Walmart/Ingles shopping center on Hwy. 278 in Covington.
