Mr. and Mrs. Randy Cole of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter Jennifer Cole to Matthew May of Milledgeville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Eloise and Homer Humphries of Conyers and Raymond E. Cole and the late Bernice R. Cole of Asheville, N.C. She is a graduate of Eastside High School. She earned an associate's degree in early childhood education from Gordon College and a bachelor's in sociology and anthropology from Valdosta State University. She is employed with Southern Company.

The future groom is a graduate of Appalachian State in North Carolina and is employed with Carbo Ceramics.

The wedding will be Sept. 22 at Covington First United Methodist Church.
