Social Circle's Hot Rod's Diner will host its first car show Saturday

The Hot Rod's Diner of Social Circle is holding it's first car show from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. Residents can bring any type of car to the show.

The overall grand champion receives $100 in addition to getting the next car show entry waived. The top three cars picked by viewers will receive trophies.

"The goal [is] to allow there to be a central place for people to view the antique cars and show cars in town," owner of Hot Rod's Diner John Poss said.

As of Wednesday, 25 cars have registered, and double the amount is expected to be at show. Door prizes will be given every hour, and the show features Wolfman Rock & Revue.

Participants bringing antique cars from the 1970s or older or a show car, will receive a free milkshake.

Pre-registration costs $15. Registration on the day of the event is from 2 to 4 p.m. and costs $20.

Proceeds will go to needy families of Social Circle.
