EHS transcripts issue resolved

Am issue with Georgia Perimeter College accepting Eastside's 2012 graduates transcripts was avoided Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Eastside students were told their transcripts were rejected because they had the graduation date handwritten on them. The issue was proved a non-issue later that day and GPC accepted Eastside students transcripts.

Newton County School Systems' Public Relations Director, Sherri Davis-Viniard said GPC sent an email to the school stating it would accept the original transcripts and nothing had to be redone.

Students were told earlier that morning about the transcripts due to an Eastside counselor handwriting the graduation date on all 235 transcripts.

No other school reported a problem with the transcripts, which GPC is now accepting.
