Bomb threat called in at Walmarts

CPD Chief: Threat most likely fake

An anonymous caller phoned in a bomb threat at both Newton County Walmarts this morning. Officers from the Covington Police Department and the Newton County Sheriff's Department are currently on the scene.

According to CPD Chief Stacey Cotton, law enforcement is "following routine," but that they do not believe anything "real is occuring at this time, although we have to treat it the same as we do all these sorts of threats."
