Ga. funerals, private gov't in NY Times

The New York Times was busy covering Georgia this past weekend, including two Sunday features:

Funerals remain a segregated business in Georgia, and Madison-based Charles Menendez is one of the best known-black embalmers in the area.

Heading into northern Atlanta, the town of Sandy Springs is almost entirely privatized, including planning and zoning, trash pickup and road work. The town only has seven public employees, including a city manager and small police and fire force. Everything else is contracted out.
