Independent film to be shot in Social Circle

Zumafilmz, an independent film production company located in Abilene, Texas, is currently shooting footage for a documentary about the important role of small towns in American culture. Six towns under the population of 10,000 are being featured including Social Circle.

The choices were made in the effort to select towns diverse in location, economic status and ethnicity. Zumafilmz producers visited Social Circle this past February for initial interviews. Carol Windham and Ricky Long will be returning to the area June 11-16. Zumafilmz will return in October to document the Friendship Festival.

"Our February trip was so successful and we are really looking forward to returning. We will be using the Welcome Center in Social Circle as our headquarters and while we are there we hope to photograph historic documents and images as well as interviews," said a Zumafilmz representative.
