Local woman wins cadillac from lottery

Covington resident Linda Goines won $34,730 a 2012 Cadillac CTS sedan after playing the instant ticket game Cadillac Riches from the Georgia lottery.

Goines, 48, has been a bus driver with DeKalb County School System for 21 years and purchased the ticket from the Shell Food Mart in Lawrenceville.

Goines, 48, is married with four children and has a twin sister, Brenda, who Goines hopes to take on trips with her.

"I feel so honored. I got the right ticket at the right time," she said. "It's a beautiful car. I like the sunroof and all of the features that it has."

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery has returned more than $13.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
