Businesses help with Toys for Tots

Local families wait to receive toys.

Two local nonprofits, Sojourner Truth Observational Study Hometel and Unity Learning Network, gave toys to around 500 children this year through their participation in the Toys for Tots program.

Lillian Bittaye, director of Sojourner Truth Study, thanked all of the local business that helped the cause, including Beall's Clothing Outlet, AMC Theaters at Stonecrest Mall, Bell's Grocers, BJ's Warehouse, Captain D's, ClayBorne Fashions in Stone Mountain, The Life Church of Conyers, Cold Stone Creamery, Covington Boy Scouts, Donald Trimble Mortuary, DJ E. Cole, Dunkin Donuts, Golden Glide Skate Town, John Miles Chevrolet, Kohl's, the Krogers on U.S. Highway 278 and Salem Road, Little Caesar's Pizza, Living Stones Christian Ministry, Longhorn's Steakhouse, Lowe's, Middle Ridge Elementary School, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, New Covenant Christian Ministries, Matthew's Casket Company, Sander's Repair Shop, Sam's Club, The Evan's Company, WGFS 1430 AM radio station and the Hyatt Place Hotel at Stonecrest Mall.

CRCT preparation
Sojourner Truth Study is also offering CRCT preparation online from 4 to 5 p.m. every weekday at letthechildrenlive.net. The group also offers webcam tutoring services; people can register for the tutoring by filling out the registration form on the bottom of the website's home page.
