Groves running for school board of Social Circle

Robbie Groves prides herself on being a loving parent and in being involved in her daughter's education, which is why she is running for District 3 of the Social Circle School Board.

Groves' daughter is in the fourth grade and she said in an email that she wanted to learn more about the school system her daughter was enrolled in.

"I really do not have any issues; I just want to be involved in my daughter's education and learn more about the school system. I am a parent, not a politician," she said

"I grew up in Scipio, Ind., a small town very much like Social Circle. When I moved here 12 years ago, I was immediately struck by the similarities. I love living in a place where people know each other and look out for each other. My goal as a member of the Social Circle Board of Education is to further the spirit of life in Social Circle by looking out for the best interests of our children through positive leadership."

Groves is currently a student, pursing a degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare and watches children inside her home. She holds an Associate of Science in Medical Billing and Coding degree. Previously she worked as a lab/quality control manager at Rose Acre Farms before marrying her husband Tony - a Social Circle native - and moving to the city. She is involved in Girl Scouts and has been a co-leader for more than four years.

She has three children, 9-year-old Brianna, 29-year-old Nathan and 30-year-old Roxanna.
