Clean up the town

Lee Sandow/

Social Circle held a city-wide cleanup Saturday morning, sponsored by the Social Circle Better Hometown Clean City Committee.

The event began at 8 a.m., but that didn't stop dozens of volunteers from giving their time to tidy the town.

Many local groups, organizations and churches signed up and traveled in groups to clean up the city.

The church at the Grove provided breakfast for everyone in attendance.

The Litter Critter (top) also appeared to encourage everyone as they took to the streets.

Next weekend, Social Circle will be holding their annual Friendship Festival. For more information on that event, visit www.covnews.com
